With every new year comes new goals….. in life, love, adventure, and work. The older I get, the more excited I am about a brand new 365 days to grow in every way I possibly can, including my personal style. My personal style transformation has never been a drastic one, but the way I dress is definitely different from the way I dressed in the beginning of 2014. As my 27th birthday approaches, I’ve made 5 style goals that I’d like to compliment a new age:
Stay Simple
Staying simple is the one goal I take into each year. It’s not so much about being boring and only flaunting your “safe pieces”, it’s more about cherishing the styles and staple pieces I love most and feel the best in.
Be Laid Back
I really want to try taking a more laid-back approach when it comes to dressing: Loose shirts, or boyfriend fit bottoms with a tighter top. It’s so different from what I usually go for but I’m really excited to try it out!
Have Fun
Have more fun with accessories. I tend to keep it simple with jewelry, shoes, bags, etc… so this coming year I’d like to make more of a statement with those pieces!
Embrace It All
In 2015 I will embrace every style I love and try to wear each at least once a week. I will not define my style.
Be Daring
I’ve always been intrigued but intimidated by mixing prints and patterns. My current closet is very black and nude, which are obviously three favorites of mine, but its time to mix it up a bit
As you embrace the new year, there’s one style resolution we all can benefit from and that is the art of letting go. I have a tendency to talk myself into holding on to certain things , even if it no longer fits or has yet to be worn. By cutting down the clutter, we can make space for newer things that willl become timeless and key pieces that enhance this year’s style growth! Wishing you all a happy, healthy and blessed 2015. Feel free to share your style goals below.
Happy Styling!
